Last Updated: May 2026

At Laura Rickute Photography, I am committed to protecting the privacy and security of the families I work with. This policy explains how I collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

1. Data Controller

Laura Rickute is the "Data Controller" for all personal information collected through this website and during our photography sessions. If you have any questions, you can contact me at laura@laurarickute.com.

2. What Information I Collect

I only collect information that is necessary to provide you with a high-end photography experience. This includes:

  • Contact Details: Your name, email address, and phone number provided via my contact or booking forms.

  • Session Details: Information regarding your family (such as children's names and ages) to help me prepare for our session.

  • Visual Data: The photographs taken during our session, which are considered personal data.

  • Technical Data: Your IP address and browsing behavior on this website (collected via cookies through Squarespace).

3. How I Use Your Data

I use your information for the following purposes:

  • To Fulfill Our Contract: To communicate with you, carry out the photography session, and deliver your final digital gallery.

  • Legitimate Interests: To manage my business, respond to inquiries, and improve my website experience.

  • Consent: With your explicit permission (via a Model Release), I may use selected images for my portfolio, social media, or marketing to showcase my work to other families.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using password-protected systems.

  • Digital Galleries: I use secure, third-party platforms to deliver your images.

  • Physical Storage: RAW files and edited images are stored on encrypted external hard drives.

  • Retention: I keep contact information for as long as necessary for tax and business purposes. I typically archive session images for 2 years, though I recommend you download and back up your final gallery immediately upon delivery.

5. Third-Party Sharing

I do not sell your data. I only share information with trusted service providers necessary to run my business (e.g., website hosting, gallery delivery platforms, and professional printing labs). These providers are also required to be GDPR-compliant.

6. Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you.

  • Request that I correct any inaccuracies.
